A rare collector’s release celebrating Macallan’s heritage. The Macallan Archival Series Folio 8, known as “The Colossus of Nose,” continues the sought-after Archival Series that pays tribute to the distillery’s iconic campaigns of the past. Released in April 2025, this edition is presented in the signature book-shaped case with a commemorative booklet, combining whisky, art, and history in one limited offering.
Matured in a selection of European oak sherry-seasoned casks, both first-fill and refill, it captures the depth and elegance that define the series. Bottled at 43% ABV and naturally coloured, Folio 8 carries a vintage terracotta hue with aromas and flavours that echo classic sherried Macallan. This bottle is highly limited in allocation, with only a small number of bottles released.
Tasting Notes
NOSE
– Spiced dried fruit
Golden sultanas, ripe dates, berry compote and toffee brittle with lemon peel, cinnamon and a touch of anise.
PALATE
– Sherried depth
Sweet raisins and sultanas with ginger, citrus zest, toffee and sweet oak.
FINISH
– Long and warming
Lingering oak spice with dried fruit and subtle sweetness.
